What I'm working on now

A snapshot of where my attention is. This is a now page.

Replacing our software stack with one we built

The Savoy Operating System went live in June 2026 and the company is cutting over module by module, with a hard deadline at the end of the year to be off the old tools. I own product and screens; a very small team owns the code. Every module has to pay for itself operationally the day it ships, or it does not ship.

AI in the back office

Not chatbots. The boring parts: month-end close, rent collection follow-up, work orders, hiring screens, weekly updates. The hard part turned out to be getting the company's data ready for it, not the models.

Writing

This site is being rebuilt from the ground up, and I am moving from short leadership essays to longer pieces drawn from actually running the business: the numbers, the rulings and the mistakes behind them.
